Hoka Mafate 5 Men's Trail Running Shoes Cement/Black

The men's Hoka Mafate 5 is a plush cushioned, grippy trail shoe that delivers all-day comfort and foot protection for technical days out on the hills. Building on the success of the Mafate Speed 4, improved features include a plusher ride and increased stability, which is ideal for those who want to cover long distances without sacrificing cushioning. The updated dual-density midsole with firmer foam closer to the foot and softer foam underneath, delivers a responsive ride without feeling hard or harsh underfoot.

Upgrades to the upper are noticeable, offering a more secure fit and structure than previous models - the glove-like fit hugs the foot without pressure points and eliminates unwanted in-shoe movement. The reinforced mesh upper construction provides enhanced durability with improved toe protection, which resists wear from steep, rocky descents. Although the added support and protection is noticeable, the shoe doesn't feel cumbersome and maintains a relatively light feel underfoot, even over long distances.

With 5mm Vibram Megagrip lugs on the outsole, the shoe's grip is excellent, offering confidence when running on wet rock, loose gravel and through the mud. The wide base provides excellent stability, which comes into its own when running on tired legs or carrying a backpack.

Crafted with mountain terrain in mind, the Mafate 5 works just well on mixed trails, making it a reliable choice for ultra-distance runs or back-to-back long days on technical ground.
