This model is best suited to faster runners who naturally land around the midfoot when running at pace. While the heel cushioning is very soft, overall stability has been improved compared to the previous version. However, runners who land heavily on the heel may still find it less supportive than alternatives such as the Hoka Rocket X 3 or Skyward X. The pronounced rocker and 7mm heel-to-forefoot drop encourage a more forward landing position, helping maintain rhythm and speed during faster efforts.

The midsole uses a layered foam construction, with a firmer base and a softer compound above the carbon plate. This keeps the ride well cushioned while allowing the foam to compress and rebound efficiently under load. At race pace or during hard sessions, the shoe feels noticeably faster and helps reduce fatigue, with less stiffness felt in the legs and joints after prolonged efforts. The curved platform also supports efficient running form on gentle climbs, where the rebound remains consistent.

A lightweight, streamlined upper keeps overall weight low at 213g in a UK size 8. The fit is snug and low volume, with a straight big toe line that guides toe-off effectively. A thin but soft tongue, secure heel cup, and asymmetrical lacing system work together to hold the foot firmly over the plate.
